Granny Smith – An overbearingly sweet work or character
I thought the main character, Hazel, in this novel was super sweet. She could be overly zany and over-the-top, but you can tell she has a kind heart.
Fuji – A work about a mountain
I could not think of any book for this category that stands out to me.
Red Delicious – A book that would be perfect if it was only judged by its cover
I was very excited to read this book because I liked how it focused on self-care in the form of crafts, but it ended up being a bit dry. I think it needed more substance.
Golden Yellow – A book with yellow on the cover
This novel which I recently reviewed focuses on the story of three girls on a road trip down South during the Civil Rights era. It was an intense read.
McIntosh – A writer that has influenced or would influence your writing
There are so many influential writers in my life. One that comes to mind is Maya Angelou. Her wise words have given me strength and I love the lyrical quality of her writing style.
Honeycrisp – A book you have read that is in great demand
This novel has been all over social media lately and it deserves all the attention it’s getting. It’s action packed, diverse, magical, and the world building was so good!
Baldwin – A writer you feel needs recognition due to stunted acclaim (whether it was due to something that happened to them or a premature death)
I can’t think of any at the moment. There are few picks I have though.
Empire – A work about or set in New York
I read this during my buddy read with Zezee With Books and we enjoyed it so much. A girl gets sent to live with her uncle in NY and all sorts of paranormal mysteries start to occur.
Gala – A work that fits under many genres
This novel was so fun to read. It’s equal parts comedy, action, mystery, and romance. It fits across a lot of genres.
Ambrosia- A long work that was easy to follow
This novel had a lot of characters and sub-plots going on, but was very easy to follow. There was a overwhelming sense of mystery that gave the story heightened suspense! I was hooked from the beginning.
Jazz – A work written in or after 2010 that demonstrates freshness and originality
I thought this novel was interesting because of it’s unique take on vampires and how they co-existed with humans in that story’s world. It was interesting!
Mutsu – A big book that you indulged
I binge-read this book before the first season since I wanted to read it before reading the show. It’s probably one of the largest books I’ve ever read.
Apple Tree – Who do you tag?
Anyone who wants to participate!
