Today’s Topic: Sick Book Tag
Found At: Zezee With Books
I’ve been sick with a sinus cold recently, and I’m starting to finally feel better! I thought this would be a fitting book tag.
Diabetes: a book too sweet, like really sweet.
I loved this book so much! It was short and sweet, but such a page turner. It kept the reader engrossed with colorful illustrations, fun characters, and lots of humor (I laughed constantly throughout the whole book). Most importantly it teaches an important message to young readers about being yourself and being kind to others.
Chicken Pox: a book you picked up once but will never pick up again.
This book has a cool plot concept of portals leading to other worlds, but felt that the pacing was a bit jumbled and seemed to jump all over the place. Plot points and characters are all over the place and more questions are presented without answers.
Influenza: a contagious book that spreads like a virus.
I just read this with my book club! I loved this book from beginning to end. It’s real, funny, emotional, and sad which makes it a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It’s very popular and I can understand why! A recommended read.
The Cycle: a book you read every month, year, or often.
None. I don’t really re-read books.
Insomnia: a book that kept you up all night.
This book didn’t keep me up all night, but it sure did give me the creeps. Instead of this novel being a horror story where things are constantly popping out of corners, it’s slower paced leading to a climatic ending.
Amnesia: a book that’s forgotten and didn’t leave a powerful impression in your memory.
Though I normally enjoy books such as this, it fell a bit flat for me. Some of the material felt recycled (mainly the quotes) and I wanted more fresh content from the text.
Asthma: a book that took your breath away.
The Paragon Hotel itself seems like a hotel that is vibrant, bustling, and full of life. It was such an interesting setting as I haven’t read too many books where the world building is done around a hotel. It’s an immersive reading experience all around and I was pulled into the story from the very beginning.
Malnutrition: a book that lacked food for thought.
The book is very slow-moving and sometimes I felt it drag at certain points of the story. The dialogue and narrative are a bit stagnant which was disappointing. Overall, I felt that this was more of a coming of age story than story with horror elements.
Travel Sickness: a book that took you on a trip through time and space.
Dawn Among The Stars is a fast-paced Sci-fi novel that had me hooked from the first page. The plot has a post-apocalyptic/dystopian vibe as Kayin, the main character, lives in a world where aliens and humans somewhat co-exist on the same planet. The different viewpoints of the survivors added to the intensity of the story.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Hope you continue to feel better.
I’m dreading my seasonal allergies, which will start bothering me any day now.
Thanks! My seasonal allergies are starting to kick in as well. 🙁
