Most Likely To Be In The Movies: The Book That Would Make The Best Movie
I’m going to say one of Darcy Coates novels for this prompt. I love spooky haunted house horror stories and I think Craven Manor would be an excellent work for adaptation. It gives off Crimson Peak vibes and I think it would be a good film if done right.
Biggest Drama Queen/King: The Most (Overly) Dramatic Book Or Character
That Wolf Boy is Mine is a fun, not-too-serious romance manga series that is very short (four volumes long). I thought it was pretty cute, but one character, Rin Fushimi, plays the broody type character so much that he annoyed me. Over and over he would state the same things to the heroine and it just got to be too overdramatic.
Best Dressed: The Book With The Best Cover
I love the colors for the cover art of Black Cake. The tones of the colors are slightly muted, but give off a cool mural effect. This is a great novel that is a generational family saga. It comes out next year.
Most Creative: The Book With The Most Unique Plot, Characters, & Structure
This is a recent pick from my local book club. I love to read retelling and I think this anthology has some of the most unique tales that are based on Camelot, King Arthur, and the Knights of the Round Table!
Most Popular: The Book With The Most Ratings On Goodreads
Usually, I don’t read top-rated books on Goodreads, but this was a book club pick. It’s a quintessential each read and even though it may seem a bit formulaic it was one of my top favorite reads of the Summer season. It’s a good read if you like Romance stories and you’re looking for something a bit lighthearted.
Most Likely To Succeed: The Book That Is Going To Be Appreciated For Many Years To Come
I think Amari is the epic fantasy story any reader is seeking out. I would have loved to grow up with a novel that had such Black Girl Magic. I admired how Amari is the hero of her own story and how she goes on a self-discovery journey while also coming into her powers.
Class Clown: The Book That Made You Laugh Out Loud
Most books have only made me chuckle, so I really had to think what book made me laugh out loud the most recently. This manga adaptation is so vibrant and fun. Reading the book made me remember how dramatic and cheeky Anne is. Especially the crazy antics that get her into trouble. I laughed a lot while reading this manga.
Most Improved: The Book That Started Off Slow, But Really Picked Up
A psychological thriller in which the story fasts forward ten years later and the characters have to live with what they’ve done or suffered through due to an incident. This story is the definition of the “butterfly effect” as it follows the main characters through multiple timelines. It’s slow-burn horror that escalates in the final part of the story.
Cutest Couple: Cutest Couple In A Book
Swept Off My Feet is a romance novel that brings a karate student and ballet student together for a special project and love blossoms between the two of them. For the most part, this novel is fun and lighthearted with the witty banter between the couple and the cuter moments where they spend time one-on-one.
Biggest Heartbreaker: The Book That Broke Your Heart
This book emotionally wrecked me on so many levels. Enough said. It is equally powerful and heartbreaking.
