Wonderful Writers: Chloe Neill
Hi All! Wonderful Writers is a weekly segment that comes out every Wednesday! Every week I spotlight and discuss one of my favorite authors, books by them, and talk about their writing styles and such. I hope you’ll enjoy. Feel free to participate as well by writing your own post and as always you are welcome to use the meme/pic if you’d like (just remember to credit me).
About: Neill is the New York Times bestselling author of the Chicagoland Vampires Novels, the Devil’s Isle Novels, and a YA series, the Dark Elite.
What I’ve Read (So Far):
- Chicagoland Vampires series (#1-9)
Why She’s a Wonderful Writer:
Chloe Neill is an amazing writer! Ever since I started to read the Chicagoland vampires I have admired the great detail she puts into creating the loveable characters, intense action scenes, thrilling plot lines, and more when writing this series. Even though there are a lot of urban fantasy/paranormal stories floating out there in the book universe Neill’s series stands out among the rest. Merit (the main protagonist), Ethan, Lindsay, Jeff, and the rest of the main characters may be supernaturals, but the story portrays them in a light showing their much more than just vampires, shape-shifters, etc. They are also people with feelings and they belong in Chicago as much as anyone else.
I also had the opportunity to meet and chat with Neill at the Giant Book Fair at the 2015 RT Booklovers Convention in Dallas, Texas. She was incredibly friendly and genuinely happy to see that I enjoyed the series. I had to rein in my inner fangirl, and not go on a long tangent due to the people behind me in line. I really hope to get the chance to meet her again someday.
If you haven’t read the series yet, go check it out!
