Adventures at RT Booklovers Convention 2015 Part 3!
Welcome to part three of my adventures at RT 2015!
As day three rolled in, the crowd started to grow in size due to more attendees with Weekend passes started to file in. As a result, the lines became longer and you really had to make sure to be in line for an event early to get good seats or freebies.
My mom and I kicked the day off with the event, “Fun and Games with Forever!” The event was sponsored by Forever Romance Publishing and they featured Wild West themed carnival games with a romance twist.
We got the chance to mingle with authors such as Cecilia Tan, Sofia Tate, Lauren Dane, Courtney Cole, and many more. By playing the games we won fun prizes (free books!), and there was also a huge raffle to win a full year’s worth of books!
Since we decided to take a break from attending panels, we decided to head outside and soak up some of that Dallas sunshine! It had been raining the majority of the time that we were there, so we wanted to take advantage of the nice weather.
We made our way through Dealy Plaza…
Onto our destination, The Sixth Floor Museum aka “The Texas School Book Depository.
The Sixth Floor Museum is centered around the life and presidency of John F. Kennedy. The building is most notable for its connection to the John F. Kennedy’s assassination. An employee, Lee Harvey Oswald, shot the president from the building’s sixth floor window on the southeast corner.
The museum was very crowded since it was the weekend, so we couldn’t enjoy ourselves as much as we wanted to, but nevertheless it was a very interesting museum. I learned some new things about JFK as well as even more information about his presidency.
After checking out the museum and eating lunch, we made our way back to the hotel, only to get caught in the rain. But we still made it back without being drenched!
We then made our way to highlighted event of my day, “Avon Presents A Night In Paris…Texas!” Many Avon, William Morrow, Harper Voyager and Harper Teen authors were in attendance and they were signing copies of some of their books. We also got to enjoy wine and French-style treats!
And then this grand historical moment happened in my life…
I met the wonderful and lovely Meg Cabot!!!
Needless to say my inner fangirl, was spazzing out. I got her to sign a copy of the first novel in Princess Diaries series. It meant so much me, since I had been reading her books since middle school. I have always and still enjoy reading her books to this very day. I was so nervous and starstruck by meeting her that I ended up speechless and didn’t say too much. But I will say that her tiara was fabulous, and that she was very friendly!
For the rest of the day my mom and I ended up relaxing and trying to recuperate from being on-the-go constantly since day one.
And that concludes day three. Stay tuned for my adventures of my last day at RT and my fantastic RT book haul! 🙂

Thanks! I think the authors were just as excited to meet readers, as we were meeting them!
