Witch: A magical character or book

The thing I enjoyed about this novel outside of the romance was the way the magic system works in this book! There were so many cool magic battle scenes.
Werewolf: The perfect book to read at night

This is the first Coates book I’ve ever read and it was such an exciting spooky read! I love haunted house trope stories and this one delivered.
Frankenstein: A book that truly shocked you

Instead of this novel being a horror story where things are constantly popping out of corners, it’s slower paced leading to a climatic ending. I was surprised by the big twist at the end of the novel. It went a completely different direction that I originally thought it would.
The Devil: A dark or evil character

The evil demons in this book are pretty nasty, especially the woman (I forgot her name) that lurks within the palace’s walls and has these intense supernatural powers.
Grim Reaper: A character that never should have died

I wish Finnick hadn’t died! Makes me sad every time I think about this series.
Zombie: A book that made you hungry for more

I liked how Ash created her own lore around vampires and gave it a twist. It made the story really interesting and I appreciated the overall mystery aspect of discovering entirety of Ruby’s powers and her prophecy. Each book in the series makes you want more of the story.
Gargoyle: A character that you would protect at all cost

One character my heart goes out to is Divya. She is a big gamer with a large internet following who is struggling with trolls who are trying to tear her down and dismantle her platform. She works hard to build a revenue from her gaming challenge to support herself and her mom financially.
Vampire: A book that sucked the life out of you

This wasn’t a bad book, but for a memoir graphic novel story about the Civil Rights Movement it needed much more depth. In my opinion, there was not a lot of background given to the characters, etc. and it felt a bit rushed.
Ghost: A book that still haunts you

I was haunted (and still am) by this book when I read it during the summer. The story is based off a true crime case and the reality of the who situation sticks with you after reading it.
Demon: A book that really scared you

This book is probably why I don’t read as much horror as I watch scary movies. I was totally fine when reading, but after I was done I kept looking over my shoulder. The overall vibe of this book is so eerie.
Skeleton: A character you have a bone to pick with

Not necessarily a character issue, but I wish the author would have went more into detail about the phenomena that was happening in this book. We don’t really get a answer and I felt a little unsatisfied at that.
Mummy: A book you would preserve throughout time

An emotional but very deep novel that I highly recommend! It has some themes of self-discovery that are incredibly deep. I also appreciated the wide range of topics discussed within the text.
Creepy Doll: A cover too scary to look at

Enough said, just by looking at the cover. It gives me all the chilling J-Horror vibes!
