Today’s Topic: How I Choose My Books Tag
Found At: Bookishly Rebecca
Find a book on your bookshelves with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?
I love Disney and Christmas so I was excited to join the blog tour for this novel. It was like a fun virtual trip to Disneyland Paris with a bit of romance thrown in.
Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but did. Why did you read it in the first place?
A Bounty With Strings is an entertaining story that follows Zack a retired superhero who now works as a bounty hunter. Set in a fantasy alternate version of Canada, the story is jam packed with elemental magic, supernatural beings such as were panthers, and mystics. It’s not a typical book I would pick up but I enjoyed it.
Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick a book at random. How did you discover this book?
I bought this book because I saw it on a book recommendation list. It’s still in my TBR pile and it’s been on my list of backlist reads. I love the cover art!
Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it?
Jenny @ Reading The End recommended this Ruby Lang series and it’s so much fun! I’ve only read book out of the trilogy. I need to finish the series soon!
Pick a book up that you discovered through booktube/bookstagram/book blogs. Did it live up to the hype?
This novel was entertaining and comical! I think it lived up to the hype on my end. I liked that it was a light-hearted romantic comedy and the characters were great.
Find a book on your shelves with a one-word title. What drew you to this book?
This is another backlist read on my TBR. I bought it because of all the good reviews and buzz about it. I got it signed by Marie Lu when I met her at a book convention.
What book did you discover through a film/TV adaptation?
I knew about the books in this series for a while, but knowing the TV adaptation was coming to Starz prompted me to finally read it. I’m trying to read along with each season.
Think of your all-time favorite book(s). When did you read these and why did you pick them up in the first place?
I love this collection of essay and I want to buy a hardcopy for my own shelves. The essays are personal and I felt I could relate to some of the stories. I picked this up because I saw it on Bookstagram.

Caramelo! where has this book been?!? no, better yet where have I been that I didn’t know it existed smh! I loved The House on Mango Street and recently reread it with my tiny human for a class project, adding Caramelo to my cart *happy dance*
I’m glad I could let you know about Caramelo. I need to read it still. And The House on Mango Street! So many memories when I think of that book. I remember checking it out of my school’s library.
Enjoyed the post. Well-Read Black Girl is on my TBR.
It’s such a solid collection of essays. Definitely worth the read!
