Book Tag Thursdays: Love it or Hate It
And I’m back everyone! Sorry about the week hiatus! It got pretty crazy with tests at school as well as starting upcoming final projects. Also besides school and work, I got a second job, in order to save some money to travel to Japan next year!
As always for this segment I will find awesome book tags throughout the vast, wide inter-webs and complete mini-challenges. I’ll hope you’ll have fun and participate with me as well! Leave your own answers in the comments or write your post and link it back to me. (You are also free to use the picture if you’d like, just credit me)
Today’s Topic: Love it or Hate It
Found on: quietcomplaints
1. Top 3 favorite books?
- Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead
- The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald
- Persepolis – Marjane Satrapi
2. Top 3 least favorite books?
- As I Lay Dying – William Faulkner
- Lolita – Vladmir Nabakov
- House of Night Series – P.C + Kristen Cast
3. Top 3 favorite characters?
- Merit – Chicagoland Vampires
- Katniss – The Hunger Games
- Claire – Morganville Vampires
4. Top 3 least favorite characters?
- Bella Swan – Twilight
- Luce – Fallen (by Lauren Kate)
- Mister – The Color Purple
5. Biggest let-down?
- The way characters of the Hunger Games died (specifically “Mockingjay”) (you’ll know what I mean when you’ve read it)
- Kalona (from House of Night series) not being killed when the opportunity was right ( I stopped reading this series halfway through)
- Stupid, whiny characters in any book (nobody cares about your constant complaints!)
6. Books that you liked that other people hated?
- A Mercy – Toni Morrison
- Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte
- A Farewell to Arms – Ernest Hemingway (although it was a bit depressing)
7. Characters that people love but you hated?
- I honestly can’t think of one answer for this
8. Characters that people hate but you loved?
- I’m drawing more blanks here
9. Best Quotes?
“What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again.”- Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
“When you’re scared but you still do it anyway, that’s brave.” – Coraline by Neil Gaiman
10. Worst Quotes?
Hmmm… I can’t think of any. If they were bad quotes they probably came from poorly written books. (ex. quotes that are nonsensical)
11. Books you didn’t finish?
- Looking For Alaska – John Green (Loved the book, but never got around to finishing it, plus I already know how it ends)
- Shiver – Maggie Steifvater (I keep getting distracted by other books, but I really want to delve into the series)
- The Diviners – Libba Bray (This book is fantastic! School started up in the fall, and I had to take it back to the library, can’t wait to read it)
12. What book have you read the most times?
I seriously don’t know. I am not worthy of being a bibliophile. *backs away in shame*
13. Series where the first book was amazing but went downhill from there?
Already stated beforehand.
- House of Night Series – P.C + Kristen Cast
- Fallen Series – Lauren Kate

My all-time Best Quote… “I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it.” – The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Thanks! And I love that quote from “The Color Purple”, it means a lot and its very deep.
