1) Matilda from Matilda
Every since I read the book and saw the movie as a child Matilda has always stayed with me even as an adult. She reminded me to never stop reading and how I used to devour books as a child. She is such a smart character and I love her cleverness in solving a sticky situation!
2) Belle from Beauty and the Beast
Belle loved to read so much that sometimes she felt like an outsider. even though I have so many friends as child and today that love reading, I feel as if I’m the most passionate about it. We both love to read to explore the world around us and enjoy that books take us on magical adventures.
3) Madeline from Everything, Everything
Since Maddie spends her life trapped inside her house due to her illness she reads to escape the world she lives in. Sometimes I also read for escapism to get away from a stressful day or even the heavy coverage on news and social media. Reading helps to relax and get away from everything even for a short period of time.
4) Hermoine from Harry Potter
Hermoine and I share not only a love of reading, but seeking out information. She loves to research things that are unknown and I often find myself reading history and non-fiction books to expand my knowledge. We both treasure books as gold!
5) Yomiko Readman from Read or Die
Though this character is technically from an anime, I wanted to add Yomiko to the list. I was going to choose Sheska from Fullmetal Alchemist, but I felt like Yomiko doesn’t get much recognition. She’s a voracious reader that buys books non-stop, so we definitely have lots in common.
