Today’s Topic: Meme Book Tag

Found At: Lair of Books

Crying Kim Kardashian – A book that made you cry

I have read a some sad books over the past months, but nothing that made me cry. I can’t think of a book for this one.

Salt Bae – A book that needed a little something more

Lucky in Love by Kasie West – I was so pumped to read this contemporary romance, since I’ve heard great things about her books. The story was cute, but fell a bit flat since the book was a bit too formulaic for me. But I’d still like to give another one her books a try!

Guy thinking – A book that made you think

Am I There Yet? by Mari Andrew – A great book about growing up and navigating adulthood. This book made me think about how I take the reins in my life and realize that we have to live life to fullest by enjoying each day.

Confused guy – A book whose hype you don’t understand

Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella – I’m a big fan of her books, but this one was a bit too predictable for me. I was so looking forward to this release, but I felt it was a bit over-hyped.

Evil Patrick – A guilty pleasure read (whatever you consider guilty pleasure to mean)

One Lucky Vampire by Lynsay Sands – Even though I am well over the Twilight book phase, I always love to read a sexy vampire romance book. Sands’ Argeneau series are a favorite of mine.

Meryl Streep – A book that you’re always hyping up

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas – I mentioned it 1000 times before on blog, and I’ll keep hyping it up. It’s relevant, timely, diverse, and the narrative is so good! It should be required reading!

Successful baby – A book (whether you liked it or not) that you felt accomplished after reading

House of Rougeaux by Jenny Jaeckel – It wasn’t long, but definitely was slow-moving. So I felt accomplished after reading it since it took me so long to read.

Pennywise – A book with a promising concept/a book that you had high expectations for, but ultimately let you down

Goldie Vance Vol.1 by Hope Larson – I love a good Nancy Drew style mystery, but this one was too easy to solve and lacked character background.

Headphones guy – A audiobook that you enjoyed

I don’t listen to audio-books at all, so no book for this category either.

Distracted guy – Two books; one you’ve been neglecting on your TBR for a long time and a new one that’s distracting you/peaking your interest.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer – I started it and never finished. It’s been on my Goodreads TBR since 2013! Yikes!

Cash me outside girl – A book that tried to be something that it’s not (pretentious, didn’t live up to what it was marketed as, etc.)

The Devourers by Indra Das – I feel like the synopsis is very misleading and when I started reading the book (as part of a buddy read) I felt let down in some sorts.

Dog in fire – How many unread books do you own?

I honestly don’t know since I haven’t finished cataloging all my books. I think maybe around 100 or so?

BONUS – Pick a meme that wasn’t featured in this tag and pair a book with it

Angry Arthur – A book that made you angry/upset

Must Love Chainmail by Angela Quarles – It was one of the most boring romance books I’ve ever read. And all the characters kept doing stupid stuff.

  1. Have to say, I cannot get on with Melissa Meyer’s books! But the Hate You Give was awesome 🙂
