Today’s Topic: Sailor Moon Book Tag

Moon: A book that makes you hungry
Relish is a charming comic about a woman’s food experiences and how they shaped her childhood and overall life. Her drawing style is cute, the narrative is easy to follow, and I loved the usage of vivid colors as well as the delicious food that was depicted
Mercury: A book that features science and technology
Mammoth follows the main character Natalie, who is a geeky plus-size fashionista who loves vintage fashion and paleontology. The novel taught me more about the field of paleontology and layout of dig sites and the various jobs within the field from prospecting fossils to doing lab work.
Venus: A book that makes you want to play video games
The Frame-Up is full of fun comic book references along with a witty MC that is trying to help the LAPD solve crimes. They reference video games throughout the novel and it made me want to start-up a game of Mario Kart.
Mars: A book inspired by mythology or folklore
This novel is not based off of specific folklore, but it’s enriched with lots of legendary creatures and old folklore from Japan. It was my favorite aspect of the novel besides the main characters.
Jupiter: A book that gave you strong feelings
Cry Wolf was so good! I have been meaning to read Briggs work for the longest time! And I’m glad I did! I never read any Mercy Thompson books prior to reading Cry Wolf. This book was action packed, liked the world-building, and definitely going to read the rest of the series. I think it’s one of my top favorite fantasy reads of this year!
Saturn: A post-apocalyptic book you love
As a big fan of The Walking Dead and other similar books/TV content featuring a zombie-apocalypse story I was intrigued by Deadbreak’s story. The main character Jeremiah is doing his best to survive each day along with his furry side-kick Joe, the dog. It’s humorous, snarky, and action packed.
Pluto: A time travel book
In this historical romance, the MC travels back to medieval times. It’s an interesting fish out of water romance, and though I was appreciative of the detail to clothing, language, customs, and events I felt the book was a bit too wordy at times.
Uranus: A book featuring elemental magic
My mind went blank for this prompt. No recent book came to mind.
Neptune: A book featuring music
In Tune is contemporary romance follows the love story between a famous EDM DJ and a music manager who fall for each other at first sight. The music aspect of the story was very interesting and readers got a look at the behind the scenes life of being a music promoter/manager.
Tuxedo Mask: A book with masquerades or hidden identities
Girl on a Wire is a not really a book with hidden identities, but its closest book that I could think of. It features masquerades, glitzy costumes, and a dangerous curse.
Rini/Chibi Moon: A favorite middle-grade book
I love this novel so much because it’s a powerful story about believing in yourself and loving yourself for who you are inside and out.
Luna, Artemis, & Diana: A book for animal lovers
I don’t read too many animal books, but this one is too cute to pass up. It’s one of my favorite kid-lit series and it’s taught me a lot about narwhals and other sea-life.
