This romance novel is a definite beach read! The story takes place on a cruise ship that makes stops along Mediterranean waters and towns. The novel is so scenic and instantly transports readers to the sea!
This is a spicy romance fantasy novel that literally has a fiery romance, lol. The story takes us through Cinnamon’s (the main character) journey with Fallon from her small village through scary swamps, mysterious islands, and more. It’s an action-packed narrative full of witty banter. (Review)
Following our main character Miuko, her life is suddenly changed when she encounters a terrifying demon. Miuko starts to notice how she slowly lingers between the world of the living and the dead and must try to find a way to break a course before it’s too late. Filled with the lush landscapes and scenery of ancient Japan the novel takes readers on a journey through Miuko’s world in great detail. (Review)
This book was too good and I highly recommend it! This middle-grade novel is a fun fantasy story that is light-hearted and comical while balancing out its more serious moments. I really enjoyed exploring the world through Josephine’s eyes and how every day is a new adventure for her. (Review)
Not only is this a story about family but this is a novel that will instantly appeal to K-Drama lovers too. Chloe is an avid K-Drama watcher and the author, Shim drops plenty of nods to popular shows and K-Drama cliches making it an overall fun reading experience. The travel aspect also makes it entertaining as we get to see Chloe experience Seoul through her eyes for the first time. For a K-Drama fan like me, this novel was a page-turner. (Review)
This is a romance on the sweeter side of things, but I love how the two basically have their meet-cute moment via a dinosaur dig in her grandparent’s backyard. I am obsessed with dinosaurs, so I immediately jumped into this story. I like how it gives some insight into paleontology while also highlighting the joys of baking. (Review)
This manga series follows a spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as his daughter is a telepath, and the woman he agrees to be in a marriage with is a skilled assassin. It’s such a refreshing and new concept that I haven’t seen in manga before!
A lot of this novel’s narrative is about overcoming obstacles. Ibrahim is very open about 20th century America and the difficulties many people faced. We see how especially women had to fight for gender equality, and she goes into depth about racism, sexism, disabilities, and economic disparities of the time. Though May and Naomi (main characters) struggle with multiple problems throughout their lives and they are trying to persevere over obstacles. (Review)
Do not read this novel while you are hungry! I loved the mouthwatering details of all the delicious food offered at Ho-Lee Noodle House and the dishes made throughout the novel. It’s a very food-centric cozy mystery that takes place in a restaurant along with a tight-knit community of small businesses. My book club and I read this book and we were inspired together to make our own handmade dumplings.
This novel though short was so heartwarming and full of all the emotions that come with growing up and dealing with change. Lou (the main character) is confronted by a possible move to a brand-new city and doesn’t want to leave her friends and family behind. This book inspired me with the message that it’s possible to make a home anywhere while keeping a connection to those who you care for. (Review)

Ohhhh I STILL need to read Digging up Love – it’s on my normal Kindle not my NetGalley so I keep passing over it!
Haha! It does make a good summer read.
