Today’s Topic: Hyped for Halloween Book Tag
Found At: Words About Words
What book gave you the creeps?
Even though Ghost Girl is a Middle Grade novel this story was a spine-tingling read! There are some parts that spooked me, but the ominous atmosphere added to the story. I love the elements of mystery and suspense. Why does Zee see ghosts? Is it a gift or a curse? How can she help them? And why does the new school principal seem so creepy?
What book gives you the best Halloween vibes?
Pumpkinheads! This graphic novel is the definition of Autumn! The imagery and story give off a not-so-scary Halloween vibe. It’s about two best friends working together at a local pumpkin patch until Halloween each year and it’s their last year working there together. It’s such a cozy read.
What’s your favorite vampire book?
I have been a fan of the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead since the first book was released. Even though I was a die-hard Twilight fan back in the day this series is my number one favorite. There’s action, adventure, vampires (of course), romance, and drama.
What book scared you so much you had to sleep with the light on?
Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark. Even as an adult these books still terrify me. The imagery is haunting, and the stories stay with you long after reading the books.
What’s your favorite book about witches/goblins/ghosts/demons?
One of my recent favorite reads about supernatural creatures is The Library of the Dead. It’s more of a fantasy read than horror, but still a great seasonal read. The novel takes readers through the streets, alleys, and cemeteries of Edinburgh as Ropa tries to navigate her quest for answers. Supernatural occurrences happen in the most mundane of places adding many exciting twists and turns throughout the story.
What book do you wish was scarier than it was?
Since I have a love-hate relationship with horror books I don’t really have an answer for this question.
What’s your favorite book that takes place in October?
The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything. My favorite childhood spooky read! It’s been one of my favorites since I was little.

Great list, I love Huchu’s novel too: a bit of everything from truly horrifying scenes to outright hilarity!
Same here Huchu’s novel was fantastic. I think I’ll read book two in the series next year.
