How many books have you read so far?

Have you already found a book you think might be a 2025 favorite? If not, what was your favorite book you read that wasn’t quite five stars?

So far I really enjoyed this sequel to The Girl With the Louding Voice (which made my top 10 of 2024 list). It was so good!
Any 1-star books / least favorite book of the year?

Most read genre so far?
Actually I’ve read contemporary fiction the most! Which shocks me because it’s usually fiction.
A book that surprised you?

I am not a Dark Romance girlie, but I really enjoyed reading Phantasma and plan on reading the sequel. According to my local book club, it’s not as dark as it could be but I thought the concept of the story was interesting.
A book that’s come out in 2025 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?

This novel explores the life of Jessie Redmon Fauset, a pioneering literary editor for the NAACP’s magazine, “The Crisis,” during the Harlem Renaissance, and her complex relationship with W.E.B. Du Bois, while also highlighting the vibrant cultural scene of Harlem.
One goal you made that you’re succeeding at.

Reading more books outside of my comfort zone. I think that being a part of a book club has helped me to read more books I typically wouldn’t gravitate too. I’m always trying to broaden my reading horizons.
One goal you made that you need to focus on.

To read more of the books I own. While I have been committed to this goal and cleared off some of my bookshelves I still feel like I could do better.
New to you Bloggers/Booktubers/ Bookstagrammers/Booktokers for 2025 you recommend?
I’ll share a couple of Booktubers I enjoy watching here:
Danny has such a fun personality and I love her variety of books she reads. She’s gotten me to branch out into thriller I normally wouldn’t pick up and her vlogs are always a good time.
Sheila’s vlogs are so cozy and entertaining to watch. She not only chats about books but will also share updates on her reading journal and more.
