Today’s Video: If American Girl Dolls Were Real Girls
Found At: Lauren Ireland
This week’s video pick brings my favorite childhood books series to life. Based off the dolls of the same name the stories focused on various periods of American history, but were expanded in 1995 to include characters and stories from contemporary life. I owned a doll myself as a child and I read just about the entire series.
This parody gives us a glimpse of these six historical girls interacting with modern life, and the result is hilarious and amazing at the same time. They lovingly poke fun at the characters and their backgrounds, and if you’re familiar with the series, you’ll definitely catch on to a lot of the jokes. And if you didn’t read the books, I still recommend watching this regardless, if you’re looking for a good laugh.
Question of the Week: Which historical book series would you like to see adapted into a movie or TV show and why?
