Today’s Video: English Pronunciation The I Love Lucy Show
This week’s video, while bookish, is a little more geared toward the issue of why the English language is so tricky. The humorous short clip comes from the classic TV show sitcom, I Love Lucy, starring Lucille Balle, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley.
In this clip, Lucy tells Ricky to practice reading a storybook to their future child. At first things go smoothly until Ricky runs into some pronunciation issues with some of the words. This video made me laugh and reminded me of how I am constantly running into tricky words or grammar issues within the English language. It’s a problem native and non-native speakers deal with all the time and I think that most people can agree that English is a difficult language.
Question of the week: What is an English word that you find difficult to pronounce or a grammar issue that you think is quite tricky?
I am curious to read your answers! So please comment below.
Have an awesome weekend! 🙂
