Interesting Indies #3: Source Booksellers
Hello readers! This is a segment where I spotlight my favorite local indie/used bookstores.
In this third edition of Interesting Indies, the spotlight is on the bookstore, Source Booksellers. Source Booksellers is located in Midtown Detroit, Michigan near the Wayne State University campus and the Detroit Medical Center.
They specialize in and carry a wide variety of non-fiction books. Some of the genres they have are: books on history and culture, spirituality, art, biographies, and they also have a nice selection of children’s books. Besides books they also sell fair trade chocolates, incense, shea butter products, locally made greeting cards, and much more! They also frequently hold book signing and author talk events.
I got my first chance to visit this lovely store on Independent Bookstore Day. I had heard so many good things about this place and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to visit. As I entered the store, I was happily greeted by the owner and staff. They were very friendly and more than eager to offer to help out and recommend books that I possibly might be interested in.
At first I was a bit wary that I wouldn’t find anything to read since I don’t read a lot of non-fiction, but they carried a lot of books I would be interested in. I highly recommend this store for any reader who is looking for something new and different to read!
