My Favorite Things 2019: Music
Today I’ll be sharing my top picks in music. I’m talking about my favorite albums and EPs and new & favorite artists from the past year. Narrowing down music into compilation posts is always a daunting task for me since I listen to a wide variety of music on a daily basis.
I’ve been straying away more from top 40 radio hits and listening to way more Spotify, etc. I also have been listening to more Lofi music playlists and a ton of City Pop!

Albums
We Go UP – NCT Dream: This is 2018 release technically, but I’ve still had it on replay non-stop all year. I love how catchy the songs are on this EP and the music makes me dance! (Top Track: We Go Up)
Map of the Soul: Persona – BTS: I was so excited to hear a new album from BTS. The previous album took a while to grow on me, but I really appreciated the return back to their older sound in this album. Seeing them live in concert performing these songs was also a treat! (Top Track: Home)
F;UZZLE by MyTeen: I always find out groups too little too late. MyTeen disbanded, but this EP is a bop for sure! I love their vocals and the blend of pop and R&B on these tracks. (Top Track: She Bad)
Log – KATIE: Though Katie is based in K-Pop/R&B, this is an all English album. I was a fan of hers since she competed on K-Pop start and I love the smooth quality of her voice. This is a very chill R&B album. (Top Track: Thinkin’ About You)
Q – CHEEZE: I’m most familiar with this female solo artist from her collaboration work with other artists. This is the first full album I’ve listened to by her and it was so good! She’s a gem in the K-Indie genre and she is such a talented independent vocalist and composer. (Top Track: Mood Indigo)
Anastasia: The New Broadway Musical OST: I finally got to see this music live when it stopped near my city on the US tour. Christy (who plays Anastasia) has such amazing vocals! Listening to this Broadway OST gives me goosebumps as I sing along to my favorite songs. (Top Track: In My Dreams)
Cuz I Love You – Lizzo: Lizzo is such a phenomenal artist which I discovered a couple of years ago and I’m glad she’s getting the spotlight she deserves. I love the messages in her music and the positive energy she exudes when she performs. All the songs on this album are amazing! (Top Track: Juice)
Regular- NCT 127: NCT just keeps releasing even more great music with every comeback. I’m glad their getting more exposure in the US and hopefully they will tour more here. The album is full of solid dance tracks that really showcase what makes this sub unit what they are. (Top Track: Regular)
