My Favorite Things 2022: Music
As 2022, comes to a close. I’ll be sharing my favorites of the year, and chatting about my top picks. Today I’ll be sharing my top picks in music. Narrowing down music into compilation posts is always a daunting task for me since I listen to a wide variety of music on a daily basis.
I listen to way more Spotify and music playlists on YouTube, etc. I’ve been listening to a lot of Lo-fi or indie music playlists especially since it helps me as I work or study.
Here’s a list of some of my 2022 favorites in music:
Spotify Stats
There’s no suprise that K-Pop is my number one genre on Spotify as that’s where I got to listen to most of my K-Pop playlists and find the newest tracks. I listen to a multitude of genres on Spotify but I can say the top genres compiled here are probably most accurate. I listen to Spotfiy when I work or commute so I know my overall listening time per week is pretty high.
I was honestly shocked to see that TWICE’s The Feels get the second spot over a G-IDLE song. Especially since I’ve listened to that song way too many times to count. It’s catchy, feel good, and easy to sing along with.
And I also thought it was funny that I knocked out BTS from the top artist spot from this year too. I listen to Youtube and have my own mp3 player as well. I wonder what the totals would be if I combined it all together.
Songs
There’s no way I could list all of my favorite songs I listened to, but here is a sampling of songs (new and old) that I had on replay constantly all year long.

Albums
F by Faky – This album was way overdue as Faky is a J-Pop group that has been around for years and is just now getting thier first full album in 2022. Most of the album is a compilation of their singles but at least they have an album now. Hopefully this means more albums for the future as they have a solid catalog music and strong sound. Favorite Track: Little More
The Lead by FLO – This is a debut EP by a brand new girl group who just started out in 2022. All three vocalists have stunning vocals and together as a trio have great harmony. I love their music and how it takes listeners to an early 2000s/late 90s sound of R&B. Favorite Track: Cardboard Box
Apocalypse: Save Us by Dreamcatcher – In a K-Pop world, Dreamcatcher’s rock sound and look has always made them stand out among other girls groups. I like the edginess of their songs and this 2nd album from them has a mixture of Pop, Rock, and EDM style songs. Each member gets a solo track which shows off their skills and I enjoyed the blend of genres on the entire album. Favorite Track: Maison
Extraordinary Attorney Woo OST – I gushed about this show being one of my top favorites and the soundtrack is too. The melodies are sweet and the songs about dreaming and falling in love fit well the drama’s overarching themes. So many gems on this album! Favorite Track: Beyond My Dreams
