The Creator
As a future war between the human race and artificial intelligence rages on, ex-special forces agent Joshua is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI. The Creator has developed a mysterious weapon that has the power to end the war and all of mankind. As Joshua and his team of elite operatives venture into enemy-occupied territory, they soon discover the world-ending weapon is actually an AI in the form of a young child.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a hardcore Sci-Fi movie in theatres and this film was worth the movie watching is due. I could tell the budget was used well and the special effects from the overall film’s cinematography were mind-blowing. It felt like part adventure film and part social commentary on today’s world. I enjoyed the message within the plot and there was never a dull moment. It was slow to start plot-wise, and I felt the first quarter of the film set up the world-building and plot. The film also felt like a sequel at times.

Gen Z Needs Public Libraries
As I’m writing this post during Banned Books Week, this video I watched in September hits even harder. Libraries are not only essential community spaces but are needed for access to resources and much more. I know even in my teenage years, the library also acted as a third space to hang out in and I used to participate in their events. This video discusses why libraries continue to be under threat and why we need them more now than ever.
Anime is Political
Using examples from anime such as One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist, this video explains why anime is political even though many argue that is not. I, myself think a lot of people look at anime as something silly and goofy (aka not serious) when in fact there are many series and stories that have complex facets to them and often open up larger discussions.
Music
Love Lee by AKMU
One of my favorite duos in K-Pop is back! This is a charming and vibrant track that sings the praises of the simple, yet profound moments of being in love. I love the lighthearted feeling of the song and the bouncy melody that gets listeners to sing along with the track.
From the Start by Laufey
I highly recommend Laufey if you love jazz music. And this track along with her newest album Bewitched is lovely to listen to. With her smooth melodic vocals this track is soothing to listen to. In her own words this song is ”The ultimate friends to lovers song for all your delusional daydreams”.
Back on 74 by Jungle
The sound and dance of this viral song are iconic! It has a retro sound and feels almost as if it could be the soundtrack for Soul Train. The writer of the song stated that “it’s that feeling of having this place of your life where you grew up, where you had these really fond memories”.
