November & December Book Haul: “Tis’ The Season” Edition
With the holiday’s in the latter months of 2017, I accumulated quite the amount of books. I participated in a Secret Santa event, got books as Christmas presents, and with all the book sales going on I couldn’t help but treat myself to some shiny new books. To prepare for this I worked on cataloging and purging my book collection even more than ever in hopes of freeing up space on my bookshelves. Cataloging my books has been helpful for me to figure out what I physically own, but it can be challenging at times. I’m halfway done and see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I’m going to work even harder at reading my own books that own instead of always checking out stuff from the library or buying new books in 2018. I need to find a balance.
On with the book haul!
Bought
Death Note (The Black Edition) Vol.2 by Tsugumi Ohba (writer) & Takeshi Obata (illustrator) – My TBTB Sent Santa Lena bought me the first compilation, so when Barnes & Noble had a coupon I went to get this!
P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – What a steal from Book Outlet. With this I finally have all the books in the To All Boys I’ve Ever Loved Trilogy. My heart is complete!
Juniors by Kaui Hart Hemmings – This looks like a fun summery novel and it’s set in sunny Hawaii!
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller – This book made my top 10 list for 2017! It was on sale on Amazon so I really wanted a physical copy.
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon – At first this was purely a cover buy, plus it was on my list of anticipated reads. I just started reading it and it’s so good.
Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco – This has been on my TBR for a while! Seems like a solid mystery novel.
Prodigy by Marie Lu – Still have yet to read the first book, but at $1.99 I couldn’t pass it up.
Partner Track by Helen Wan – This seems like an interesting contemporary novel.
Mirror In The Sky by Adti Khorana – Okay this one was a cover buy as well. The cover is gorgeous! But the premise sounds a Sci-Fi so I was hooked.
Always and Forever, Laura Jean by Jenny Han – Before I found P.S. I Still Love You for such a great price I scouted this novel on Book Outlet with a super deal. This book also made my top 10 2017 list.
The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas – I love reading thrillers even though I don’t review them much on the blog (I should change that). This has been on my TBR for a while.
Want by Cindy Pon – I have heard wonderful things about this book in the blogosphere so I have high hopes for this book. The cover is beautiful!
Vassa In the Night by Sarah Porter – Again, a highly anticipated read! This wasn’t a purchase, but a Halloween giveaway win from Lindsey at Paradis Books! Go check out her amazing blog.
Gifted
Notes From The Upside Down by Guy Adams – A Christmas gift from a coworker! We always are gabbing about Stranger Things, so I was excited to receive this!
Adventure Time: The Lonesome Outlaw by T. T. MacDangereuse – A gift from my mom. She knows how much I love Adventure Time and this looks like a fun read. I’m sad the show is coming to an end.
I Don’t Belong To You by Keke Palmer – This was a Christmas gift from my uncle. I’ve enjoyed Keke’s work as an actress since she starred in Akeelah and The Bee. This looks like a good motivational read.
Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History by Vashti Harrison – *squeals with joy* Ever since I’ve seen Vashti’s illustrations when I found her on Twitter, I was beyond elated when I found out she was making a book. I love this!
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
Death Note (Black Edition) Vol. 1 by Tsugumi Ohba – I haven’t bought manga in the longest time, but I put this on my wish list and my Secret Santa got it for me. I love how the page edges are black! Death Note is such a good manga, time for a re-read!
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – Everyone has been raving about Bardugo’s book, so I can’t wait to read it.
The Deep by Tom Taylor – Another Christmas gift from my uncle. I love discovering new comics and this series about a aquanaut family looks like a good adventure read!
That concludes the November & December book haul! What books did you buy this past month? What books have you recently added to your TBR? Tell me in the comment section below.

I’ve seen Little Leaders around and I was tempted to get it too. So cute!
The illustrations are too adorable!
That’s all amazing!! I love the Vashti Harrison book in particular — I gotta get a copy of that for my little nephew. He’s reaching an age where he can cope with more advanced books than Pat the Bunny, so I want to get him as many amazing books as possible.
Yeah, Vashti’s artwork is amazing. I can’t wait to jump into the book. I bet your nephew would enjoy it. 🙂
Awesome haul! I am quite jealous!
I’m getting an error when I try to write a long comment on your blog. If it is longer than 2 sentences, I get the “invalid security token” message.
Thanks for letting me know! This is the first time I’ve heard about it. I’ll look into it.
For some reason it’s been happening on blogs that are self-hosted… One of the other blogs I follow did some tinkering and seemed to fix it. I will ask her what she had to do if it keeps happening.
That’s good to know. So far I haven’t ran into much problems with self-hosting. Still getting used to troubleshooting though since I used regular version of WordPress before.
If you’re looking for a really easy way to catalog your books, I highly recommend the Libib app! I use it all the time to categorize all of my books, and it is really great!
Ooh thanks! I’ll check out the app! 🙂
