Top 10 Books That Have Been on My TBR List (For Quite a While)
*Meant to originally post this on Tuesday, but I was exhausted from a day of work and class that I didn’t have time to finish it!
I’ve been working double time lately to keep up with all of the newest and coolest books I’m interested in reading, but I keep falling behind. Here’s a list of book that have been in my TBR wish list for quite a while. And they are not all necessarily brand new. Enjoy!
1) The Fault in Our Stars – John Green
I actually meant to read this book as soon as it came out because I’m a fan of John Green’s writing, but I just haven’t gotten to it. I have heard so many other people say such great things about this books, and I really want to read it before the film comes out this summer.
2) Shiver – Maggie Steifvater
I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve picked up this book. I started trying to read it…maybe late high school? I only get a quarter way through and then I end having to give it back to the library because its overdue (or someone put it on hold and I can’t renew it). I think the main reason I haven’t been able to finish it because I keep getting distracted by other books. Hopefully, the next time I go to read it, I’ll actually finish it so I can get through the rest of the series.
3) Cinder – Marissa Meyer
So I this is also a start and didn’t finish book. I think I only read a couple of chapters into the book. But I love the story line and the twist on the Cinderella story. I’ve been reading a lot of good reviews for this book, so this summer I hope to get through the book and the rest of the series as well.
4) Gameboard of the Gods – Richelle Mead
I bought this book first when it came out since I’m a huge fan of Richelle Mead. But I read three chapters and then it sat on my cold bookshelf…ignored and catching dust among its brethren. Now that the second book will be released soon, I am more motivated to read it. So far, I like the sci-fi story line and the characters are pretty cool, but I can’t really say too much until I actually finish it.
5) Gone Girl – Gilligan Flynn
This book sounds incredibly exciting, because I love mysteries. It caught my eye when it got a lot of publicity and I started to see it on top book lists. I can’t wait to read it, and I hope it meets my expectations.
6) Time Traveler’s Wife – Audrey Niffenegger
I own this book, but it’s been sitting on the shelf for ages….(starts to realize they are way too many books on my TBR list)
7) Shadow & Bone – Leigh Bardugo
The synopsis looks interesting and everyone has such good things to say about it. How can not read this book?!
8) Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern
Recommended by some friends of mine. I’m really intrigued by the story line, but I just never got around to reading it.
9) Little Bee – Chris Cleave
What attracted me most to this book was the cover design at first. The story sounds really interesting at it follows a Nigerian girl who meets a well-off British couple. Hopefully, I’ll get to read this sooner than later.
10) The Book Thief – Marcus Zusak
I have been wanting to read this book for years now. There’s literally no excuse for why I shouldn’t have read this book a long time ago. And the film adaptation came out already too. Tsk tsk. I need to do better.
What books have you been meaning to read, but haven’t gotten to yet? Leave you thoughts in the comments.

I’ve only read two: Queen Bee and The Book Thief. The latter is very good, but I didn’t like the former. I didn’t think the story line was realistic, and I didn’t think the characters were likeable. I read it as part of a small book club, and none of us liked it. Will be curious to see what you think.
Really? Well I will probably review the books on here, as soon as I get to them. Sorry you didn’t enjoy Little Bee. 🙁
