What I’m Listening To…Coffee Time
Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In my segment “What I’m Listening To” I share some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist consisting of five tracks.
As you might have noticed by my profile and that I’ve talked about it on my blog, I love coffee. I drink it daily and enjoy many kinds. I decided that this month’s playlist will themed around coffee (and maybe I’ll do a tea themed one in the future). Here are five tracks about coffee, love, and life!
1) Coffee by Grace
Grace is one of my newer favorite artists. This song is mellow and chill, putting you into a relaxed state. The guitar melody definitely adds to the track too. I also like how coffee is used as a metaphor for love in this song.
2) Coffee Time by Natalie Cole
Natalie is one of my favorite jazz singers! I love Coffee Time, it’s the perfect wake up song to get you going in the morning. As I listen to lyrics I can smell the aroma of coffee beans! It’s mid-tempo beat is fun while being relaxing too. Definitely a song I’d want to hear in a coffee shop!
3) Caffe Latte by Urban Zakapa
Urban Zakapa is one of my top favorite Korean R&B groups. Park Yong-in, Jo Hyunah and Kwon Soon-il’s voices all blend together seamlessly on every track and I love it! This is a sweet ballad about love and coffee combined.
4) Black Coffee by Ella Fitzgerald
Adding yet another jazzy track by the lovely Miss Ella! It’s slow, sultry, and her vocals shine as always. It pretty much describes my relationship with coffee. Though it’s a slower track it’s great for relaxation or when working.
5) One Cup of Coffee by Bob Marley
Last, but not least Bob Marley makes my playlist for the final track. The bouncy melody is sure to put a pep in your step and have you dancing along with the beat. It’s also a deeper tracking about leaving behind someone who you love.

What a great idea! I can’t think of a song just now, but I’m reminded of a TV show, in which the slow cooling of a marriage is chronicled by the husband’s initial devotion to getting his wife a cup of coffee every single morning and, then, some years later, the habit becomes a chore and then resentment ensues and, finally, the habit disappears. Sad. (It might have been “This Is Us” – I can’t remember for sure. Maybe I should have a cup of coffee to jolt my brain cells into gear.)
I haven’t seen but a couple of episodes of “This Is Us” so I’m not sure. Glad you enjoyed the list! 🙂

Been a while since I’ve listened to Bob. My fav of his songs is “Misty Morning.”
I’ll have to listen to that song, I’ll never heard it before!
