What I’m Listening To…Thanksgiving Edition
Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.
This month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” will supply you with some tunes for Thanksgiving! This month I chose some songs that talk about giving thanks, family, and evoke the overall feeling of the holiday.
1) Thank You by Meghan Trainor
Thank You is one of the tracks off of Meghan Trainor’s second album which has a great mixture of ballads and upbeat pop songs. The song is an ode to everyone who helped in Meghan’s success, specifically her fans. I feel that this is a great song about gratitude and being humble. When I listen to it, I think of all of the people in my life that I’m thankful for.
2) Harvest For The World by Isley Brothers
Harvest for The World is a soulful, mid-tempo R&B track that is socially conscious. The song discusses the issue of world peace and I think with everything that has been happening throughout 2016 this song’s message speaks volumes. I also think it’s a good song to reflect on being grateful for what we have.
3) We Are Family by Sister Sledge
This list couldn’t be complete with out the well-known song We Are Family by Sister Sledge. The track is not only danceable, but is one of those all-time feel good songs that make you sing along to the music. The song is used as an expression of solidarity in various contexts, but it helps me to reminisce about the good times I share with my family.
4) Thank You by Ledisi
Thank You is a soulful track off Ledisi’s excellent Christmas album which I highly recommend. It’s a spiritual song that gives thanks to God for his love and blessings. Ledisi’s vocals shine on this track and I love the meaning behind the lyrics.
5) Thanksgiving Theme by Vince Guaraldi Trio
To end this mini playlist, I’m sharing the song Thanksgiving Theme by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. It’s a light and playful instrumental song that evokes feelings of autumn and Thanksgiving. While the song has a happy sound, it’s also calming and relaxing.
I hope you enjoyed this mini playlist! What are your favorite songs that are Thanksgiving themed? Comment below with some suggestions.

I finally listened to Meghan Trainor’s new album and ended up liking it. x) Was not a fan of her “NO” song, so I put off listening to the other songs. But “Thank You” is really good! Lots of good music here. 🙂
Glad you liked the album, I felt the second one was more solid than the first. Plus I liked that she mixed it up with different genres and sounds in all of the tracks. Glad you like the playlist! 😀
