Wonderful Writers: Genevieve Jack
Hi All! Wonderful Writers is a weekly segment that comes out every Wednesday! Every week I spotlight and discuss one of my favorite authors, books by them, and talk about their writing styles and such. I hope you’ll enjoy. Feel free to participate as well by writing your own post and as always you are welcome to use the meme/pic if you’d like (just remember to credit me).
About: Genevieve Jack grew up in a suburb of Chicago and attended a high school rumored to be haunted. She loves old cemeteries and enjoys a good ghost tour. Genevieve specializes in original, cross-genre stories with surprising twists and writes a best-selling young adult series under a different name. She lives in central Illinois with her husband, two children, and a Brittany named Riptide who holds down her feet while she writes.
What I’ve Read (So Far):
- The Ghost and the Graveyard (Knight Games #1)
- Kick The Candle (Knight Games #2)
- Queen of the Hill (Knight Games #3)
Why She’s a Wonderful Writer:
Jack creates a fun world in the supernatural realm that her Knight Games novels are set in. There are witches, vampires, fairies, and much more. Even though the premise of the novels is that Glory, her main protagonist, deals with her new-found status as a witch, the plot doesn’t solely focus on its sci-fi/fantasy aspects. You get elements of drama, mystery, suspense, romance, and action. These elements make reading each one of her books an exciting adventure.
I also enjoy the variety of characters that are presented in the book as well. Each character, whether having a big or small impact/part in the story, bring their own spice to the story. And like other paranormal books that I love Jack has written her supernatural characters with great depth. The story also doesn’t just focus on the fact their just a witch, etc. If you want to read a series with adventure and some steamy romance, this series is for you!
